What is HarvardKey and how do I claim it?
HarvardKey is Harvard University’s secure credential for accessing University applications and services. This new login and password replaces PIN and your previous Alumni.Harvard login. HarvardKey provides access to the Alumni.Harvard online community and features such as the alumni directory, discussion forums, and event registration.
How do I claim my HarvardKey?
Visit key.harvard.edu and follow the step-by-step instructions. You will need your Harvard Alumni Association ID (HAA ID), class year(s), and preferred email address on file. You can also watch a step-by-step tutorial video »
Where do I find my HAA ID and preferred email address?
Your HAA ID number is in the footer of recent emails from the HMS Office of Alumni Affairs and Development and the Harvard Alumni Association. This includes the monthly Harvard Alumni Gazette or the HAA eVents email. Your preferred email address on file is the address that received the email.
What if I need help claiming my HarvardKey?
You can call Harvard University's IT Support Desk staff. Please call 617-495-7777 or email ithelp@harvard.edu. The Support Desk schedule is:
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m.–8 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon–5 p.m.

How do I contact a fellow alum?
Use the Alumni.Harvard directory to search for fellow alumni. Please note that alumni can choose to show or hide all or part of their records. You will need your HarvardKey to access this information.
You can also send an email addressed to the alum you are trying to reach to hmsalum@hms.harvard.edu. If we have an email address on file for them, we will forward your message, and they can contact you.

How do I update my contact information?
Use the profile update tool in the Alumni.Harvard directory to update your name, address, phone number, email, etc. Updating the directory also updates our mailing lists. This allows us to send you event invitations, Harvard Medicine magazine, Reunion notices, and other materials from HMS. You will need your HarvardKey to access this information.
You can also send your updated contact information to hmsalum@hms.harvard.edu.

Visit the "Volunteer" section of the website to learn how you can use your knowledge and expertise to benefit the School.

Where can I learn about alumni events in my area?
Visit the "Attend" section of the website to see a list of upcoming events. Be sure your contact information is up-to-date in Alumni.Harvard so we can send invitations to you. You can use the profile update tool in the Alumni.Harvard directory to verify/update your information.

How do I request a transcript or copy of my diploma?
The Registrar's Office maintains the permanent record for every graduate. The office can provide transcripts, verifications of degree conferred, and other items needed for licensure and/or hospital staff appointments. Visit the office's website for more information on how to request this information.

Where can I find information on a graduate for genealogy research?
You can access the book Harvard Quinquennial, which lists all Harvard graduates from 1636 to 1905. You can also access a pdf of The Harvard Medical School: A History, Narrative, and Documentary. 1782-1905.
