The Alumni Council promotes and supports activities that connect alumni to each other, the School, and current students.

The Council serves in an advisory role to Harvard Medical School leaders by listening and responding to current issues. It also appoints, in consultation with the dean, the chair of alumni relations and the chair of alumni giving. The Council comprises members who are each elected to a three-year term. The Council is currently focused on pursuing a debt-free MD for students with financial needs.
