The awardee will have demonstrated loyalty, service, and commitment to HMS through volunteering, community building, acting as an ambassador for the School, or otherwise supporting the School and its mission.

Congratulations to the 2024 Winner

AWA.W. Karchmer, MD ’64

Karchmer is being recognized for his unwavering dedication to advancing alumni engagement at HMS. He has been a stalwart leader within his class, serving as a member of many Reunion Committees and as a Class Agent. His remarkable 15-year tenure as Chair of Alumni Relations reflects his devotion to nurturing enduring relationships among the alumni community and to strengthening connections between alumni and the School. 

Nomination and Selection Process

Alumni can submit nominations for this award via the online form. Nominations must be submitted by Dec. 31, 2024. The Alumni Council selects the award recipient each year. Nominations are kept confidential and will not be posted online.

Award Criteria

  • Candidates must have demonstrated an active commitment through volunteerism, peer/community engagement, consulting, and/or other similar displays of support and exceptional service to HMS
  • Qualified alumni will have partnered with HMS administrators, faculty, students and/or staff who are affiliated with one or more HMS-managed offices
  • Alumni employed by HMS are eligible provided they are not receiving compensation for the service for which they are being nominated
