Volunteering

We value alumni/ae involvement. Your knowledge and expertise are tremendous assets that can benefit the School. Every volunteer who participates strengthens our community. Below are several opportunities for you to get involved.

Alumni Council

CouncilThe Harvard Medical School Alumni Council is composed of 15 elected members, representing alumni/ae by pentads. The Council's mission is to promote and support activities that connect alumni/ae to each other, connect alumni/ae to the School, and connect students and alumni/ae. The Council serves a consultative and advisory role to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University by listening and responding to current issues.

Class Reunion Committee

ReunionThe goal of Reunion is to reconnect alumni/ae with the School, as well as reconnect alumni/ae with each other. The Class Reunion Committee plays a very important role in this and works collaboratively with HMS staff to manage all aspects of their Reunion. The Committee has two distinct responsibilities—planning Reunion activities and raising a Reunion Class Gift. Strong leadership in each area is critical to a successful Reunion.

Class Agent Program

ClassAgentsClass Agents help to shape the unique learning experience for students by helping to raise critical funds for everything from scholarships and financial aid to innovative research programs and world-class faculty. Each Class Agent is responsible for providing leadership for the fundraising efforts of his or her class each year. As a Class Agent, alumni/ae play a vital role in keeping their classmates connected with the School and encouraging their annual support of HMS students through their personal dedication, enthusiasm, and gift contributions.
